Action and Motion

We've all heard the charges to " Be the Change", "Make a Difference" and  "Serve Others" on numerous occasions.   Occasionally, I've stepped up and done something, full of hope and faith that it would change someone's life and that my words and action would leave a mark, temporary or permanent, on someone's life.  However, after days, weeks, or months the passion and motivation would fade way and I'd be sucked back into my own self-absorbing bubble.

Most of us will go through life consumed in our own bubble, only concerned with issues that affect us. Then others will do three to four acts of service throughtout the year.  But there are a few, the Margaret Mead few, that make a true difference.  For these few, service isn't just a random act of kindness, but rather an intentional way of life.  I want to highlight those who commit to service all year long and organizations who meet the needs of?????.

This blog  has been inspired by several moments over the last few years.  I think what sums it up is"worship is about more than music; worship is love in motion."  -- Do Something Now, the Passion Movement.  In more sermons this year than ever, I've heard the message " faith in action." Hopefully, this will develop into more than just an ordinary New Years Resolution  to become better versions of ourselves. I hope it develops into an opportunity to make better people who make  cleaner, safer, happier and more welcoming communities, and ultimately greater change.

Check the blog regularly for highlights of people and organizations who are changing lives, communities, and the world and for links, videos, and information about how you can get plugged in and serve.
